So I decided to take in the story of Charles Bronson. No, not that one! A story about United Kingdom's most violent prisoner.
The movie featured Tom Hardy (Bane for batman fans) as he descended into chaos and violence. The film takes two angles, as Hardy "hosts" the movie in a deluge of fucked up "stage" segments, not to be outdone by the more violent "prison" segments.
This flick was all kinds of fucked up, for me, and I really dug it. It was strange as hell, but interesting enough to carry all the strangeness. Accented by violence. Hardy is amazing in this. Destined for insane movie parts, I suppose. But he does them sooo well.
There is a looney bin segment that is weird too...just all kinds of weird and cool. Definitely worth a watch. Twice for me. haha. Way outside my normal selection of movies, but...I'm gonna go ahead and give this strange fucker a good.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I've always liked the movies that leave you thinking, so I was definitely pretty excited to check out this one when my coworker at DISH told me about it a couple weeks ago. I added it to my Blockbuster @Home queue, got it in the mail, and watched it last night. I was pretty impressed with it, especially when it came to Tom Hardy. I thought he was a good actor at first, but now I think he's amazing! The movie was definitely way outside of my normal selection as well, but I'm very happy that I watched it. I have no late fees to worry about when it comes to returning it, so I'll definitely be keeping it a bit longer to show some friends of mine. I’m interested in seeing their reactions! :)
