Some times I can handle weird shit, some times I can't. But I am certainly intrigued by this minute-long teaser for writer/director Shane Carruth's Upstream Colour.
The filmmaker exploded onto the scene with the 2004 time-travel flick Primer and hasn't made a movie since. Now he's back, with Upstream Colour scheduled to premiere at next year's Sundance Film Festival.
We don't know much about the flick other than it features Carruth acting once again. Andrew Sensenig, Brina Palencia, Amy Seimetz, Juli Erickson, Frank Mosley and Mollie Milligan also star. As for the plot, a man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the lifecycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.
Like I said, weird shit. But intriguing shit. Only time will tell if it's Good, Bad or Ugly though.
Cheers to Empire Online for the news.
