Mike S here again, this time with some TV horror touchie feelies. Well, maybe not, but this is still entertainment news, found on "Bloody Disgusting"... so deal with it.
Many film goers were impressed with M. Night Shyamalan's work on "The Sixth Sense". Many were eager to see what he would come up with next after "Unbreakable". Then fans started to cool off after, "Signs", "The Village", "The Woman in the Water", and "The Happening".
This may have proven to be a factor in his decision to move to the small screen and produce "Wayward Pines" based on "Pines" by Blake Crouch. Reading the synopsis of the series on "Bloody Disgusting," I can't escape the feeling we've been there before:
After two federal agents have disappeared, a secret service agent is sent to a small down to investigate. As he digs deeper into the mystery, strange events begin to unfold.
Wait... I know... We HAVE already been here with David Lynch's classic series "Twin Peaks"! Even the title echos that series. We can only hope that Chad Hodge's writing will be able to bring something special to keep this from being a water down clone of Lynch's work.
