Because nothing says thrill like a good thriller, Jason and Shawn take a break from the beasts, boobs and blood of the last few weeks to tackle a pair of . . . well . . . thrillers.
First up is the crime caper Deadfall starring a whole schwack of A-list talent including Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde and Kate Mara. Plus there's Hollywood veterans likes Treat Williams, Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson -- sans Wesley Snipes of course.
What's it about? Two siblings decide to fend for themselves in the wake of a botched casino heist. But their paths cross during another family's Thanksgiving celebration.
Our next flick comes with a sci-fi twist. Extracted tells the story of scientist who has invented a technique to watch people's memories. He finds himself in a dangerous situation when he's tasked with entering a heroin addict's mind to see whether the man committed murder.
And because nothing says Valentine's Day like a B-movie review show starring a couple of foul-mouthed assholes, the Basement Boys share their thoughts on the Top 5 best non-romantic date movies. Isn't that sweet?
Plus, Shawn takes five minutes or so to update Basementites on writer/director Ryan Shovey's quest to get his slasher movie Hunter to the big screen. Wanna help Ryan get his film made? Then you have to listen!
So tune in at 10 p.m. PST at 92.5FM CFBX Kamloops and online at www.thex.ca. You can follow along to the mad tweets of Mike S over on Twitter. Stick with us!
Note: the podcast version of the show will be available tomorrow, that's Friday, morning. Now for some previews.
