Now, before all you nerds get pissy about a Poltergeist remake I want you to remember the wise words of Basement Fan Lachlan L: whining about it won't stop Hollywood from spending millions upon
millions to make bad ideas into bad movies (that many will see).
He was talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake, by the way. The one starring Megan Fox.
Onto the news: seems Sam Raimi isn't directing the much talked about remake of Tobe Hooper's 1982 horror classic after all. Instead, that honour goes to Gil Kenan, who made the animated spookfest Monster House and the allegedly underrated City of Ember. I say allegedly as I haven't seen it, but have heard good things.
And there you go. MGM is determined to move ahead with the project. No one has asked for this, but all the bitching in the world won't stop the powers that be from pushing a new Poltergeist into theatres. So I keep telling myself.
