I know guise might be too "smart" a word for us Basementites -- I actually had to look up the meaning -- but it's the only one that worked in the headline. It means form, but form didn't read right. I'd apologize, but we don't do that in The Basement.
On to the matter at hand, Mr. Jones is an upcoming found-footage horror flick Anchor Bay will release in May, and it actually looks pretty interesting. Too bad about the whole found-footage thing though.
Not based on the Counting Crows song of the same name, nor that Richard Gere movie from 20 years ago, Mr. Jones is about a young couple who move to a desolate cabin in the woods and discover their neighbour is a reclusive, yet famous, sculptor. And there's a reason why few people lay eyes on Mr. Jones.
Jon Foster and Sarah Jones star in the flick, which gets a limited theatrical run before it hits DVD and Blu-ray May 6.
Yeah, the plot sounds a bit different -- and found-footage is DONE in my book -- but the preview does a good job of selling Mr. Jones. What say you?
